While K-12 has historically maintained a focus on face-to-face learning, this crisis has forced districts to quickly adopt and deploy a plan to keep instruction going. In my other full-time job, as an EdTech leader at Blackboard, I spend a lot of my time focused on how we can use our technology to support the education community through this transition.Īt Blackboard, we have worked for decades to create the most comprehensive, tested, and proven tools available for just this purpose. As a parent, I’m watching intently to see how my own kids are adapting to daily online check-ins and self-paced learning. As K-12 districts across the US are adjusting to remote instruction in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, educators, parents, and students alike are being thrust into the world of virtual learning, with no clear timeline for how long before students can safely return to school.
